The Person

Everyone has one.  That pivotal person.  The one who changed your life.  The one who helped define you.  The one without whom you wouldn't be who you are.  Hopefully, the one who taught you to believe in yourself.

For me, that was my grandma.  And today would be her 100th birthday.  I miss her.

For me it was my grandpa.

I understand the missing part.

I hope sweet memories are with you today on her birthday.

She/he is only dead who is not remembered.

But how fabulous that she had such an amazing impact on you! I hoped she lived a very long, happy life!

She was great. I remember lots of little things about her, even if I didn't know her very well before she died.

I know how much she means to you. I'm grateful to her for filling you with light at a time when you felt surrounded by darkness. I attribute most of your best qualities to her.

Since we love her so much - and 100 years is quite an achievement, after all - how about we buy some ice cream and cake? (I suppose we could tell Nik it's for him, since we missed it on his birthday last week.)

That was my grandma as well. She just passed in September. It was and still is, at times, very difficult.

I could relate, for- my grandma used to be someone like that for me. She'd have been 76 this year if she lived...

Cheers and I hope you get something 'fun' done in honor of her memory.
